The Union has the mission & Vision to provide high performance player, Professional player and player motivation as supper star for nation also a platform to players, Instructor and Referees of nation and international level among the people of the world of sports.
Bangladesh Taekwondo Union” fund collection and revenues, grants for its students, life member, national donations, foreign or domestic sports organizations, domestic & foreign sponsor of any company or domestic sports persons or organizations.

President : Md Rezaul Karim

With a distinguished career spanning over 25 years in education and community development, Md. Rezaul Karim is a truly transformative leader. As the Founder and Principal of a prominent educational institution and head of a Pearson Edexcel international examination center, he has consistently fostered environments where young minds flourish, blending rigorous academics with comprehensive well-being.

His profound commitment to youth empowerment shines brightest in his role as the Founding President of the Bangladesh Taekwondo Union since 2018. Under his dynamic stewardship, Taekwondo in Bangladesh has undergone an unprecedented transformation, surging in popularity and professional stature. Mr. Karim’s strategic vision directly paved the way for the Bangladesh National Taekwondo Team’s groundbreaking success at the 2025 Asian Taekwondo Championship in Vietnam, marking a historic milestone for the nation.

Internationally recognized for his leadership, Mr. Karim also serves as the Country Head of Bangladesh for the esteemed World Police Taekwondo Federation, South Korea. Beyond the realm of sports, he is deeply engaged in socio-cultural initiatives, championing a holistic approach to youth development that nurtures intellectual, physical, and social growth. His unwavering dedication was recently honored at a national ceremony by The Daily Star and HSBC Bank in April 2025. Md. Rezaul Karim is an inspiring force, tirelessly dedicated to building a brighter future for the youth of Bangladesh.

Moutushi Islam stands as a beacon of dedication and vision at the heart of Bangladesh’s Taekwondo landscape. As the founding general secretary of the Bangladesh Taekwondo Union (BTU), she has been instrumental in laying the groundwork for the sport’s widespread development and future success within the nation.

A 1st Dan Black Belt certified by Kukkiwon, South Korea, and an accomplished English Honours graduate, Moutushi’s journey in martial arts began in her teenage years as a Kyorugi Taekwondo athlete. This lifelong commitment to the discipline is a testament to her profound belief in Taekwondo’s transformative power. Beyond her personal achievements, she is the Managing Director of Leebazar Limited and a proud mother of two daughters, with her family’s roots deeply intertwined with sports excellence – her spouse serving as a Taekwondo coach at BKSP (Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan).

Through the establishment of the BTU, Moutushi Islam champions a powerful vision: to make Taekwondo training accessible to every child, boy and girl, in every corner of Bangladesh. Her mission is rooted in empowering the youth with invaluable life skills – confidence, discipline, and self-defense – all core tenets of Taekwondo. As she eloquently states, “Taekwondo is not just a sport; it is an art of life. It teaches discipline, self-respect, and above all, respect for humanity.”

Under her inspiring leadership, the BTU is committed to nurturing young talent to represent Bangladesh on the global stage, from international championships to the prestigious Olympic Games. A key focus also lies in hosting international Taekwondo events within Bangladesh, fostering global collaboration and inviting nations worldwide to contribute to the growth of this dynamic martial art.

Moutushi Islam’s tireless efforts are building more than just a sports organization; she is fostering a movement aimed at creating a stronger, prouder, and more disciplined generation for Bangladesh. Her unwavering dedication invites every individual passionate about youth empowerment and martial arts to join the Bangladesh Taekwondo Union and be a part of this vital journey.

Our country, The People’s Republic of Bangladesh is famous for its friendly and co-operative attitude. It’s vibrant history, ancient archeology, rice culture and beautiful landscape & lots of rivers. Some of the oldest Islamic, Bhuddist, and Hindu archeological relics can be found in Bangladesh. I Appeal to People of Bangladesh to put efforts to uplift the Taekwondo sport, and I welcome all the countries who want to participate in Internationals Taekwondo events in Bangladesh for developments of Taekwondo sport. Our ambition is to make every child & youth learn this sport at every part of Bangladesh. Taekwondo is an Art that fills up the spirit of Respect for Humanity, and most importantly to learn Self-Defense. Discipline makes Taekwondo Unique. We want our children and young girls / boys could hold Our National Flag at International level / world events & Olympic Games which would be a great honor for Bangladesh Taekwondo Union.

Our Mission & Vision

Bangladesh Taekwondo Union ambition is not to run a business. It has the ambition to uplift Taekwondo sport not only in Bangladesh but at world level. The Union has the mission and Vision to provide high performance players, a platform to the players, Instructor and Referees of national and international level among the people of world of sports. We also want to provide name, fame and honor to players /Sponsor provider/ Coaches or Instructors / trainer/ fitness trainer / sports science to researches potential players /rectify the error to top level performance / Referees/ physiotherapy in sports world and public.

It has his mission to attract children, people of all ages and youth of Bangladesh to the games specially Taekwondo sport. So, that young generation does not indulge in drugs and they do not indulge in crimes. The also keep them away from drugs and crime also dirty politics. The Union has the ambition that its players would be able to give extra ordinary performances at International, World Championship and Olympic Games.

 So, that children and youth boys & girls can hold our National Flag high  at International / world level and Olympic games.It would be a great honor for the Bangladesh Taekwondo Union in case our commitment brings any player to the top level of World championship and Olympic Games. If a single child or youth from Bangladesh could get top in the sports world. Then we people in Bangladesh Taekwondo Union consider that we have our values of our labour.

Who can learn Taekwondo?

Any man and woman from the age of 6 to 80 years can learn Taekwondo.

Who can teach Taekwondo?

Taekwondo is a disciplined game. To maintain strict discipline and curriculum, only authorized persons acknowledge by RDTA can teach Taekwondo in Rajshahi.
